Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine, a major Shinto site and iconic Japanese cultural landmark, was founded by Minamoto Yoriyoshi in 1063 and moved to its current location by Minamoto Yoritomo in 1180. Dedicated to Hachiman, the war god of the Minamoto clan, this woodblock print by Kawase Hasui dates to 1931.
